"Tursa" is planning expansion

Our goal is to have such products and prices that distinguish us from other stores.

"Tursa" store chain plans to expand in Tbilisi and add a second branch in the nearest future, founder of sore "Tursa" Zurab Putkaradze talked about this to Business Insider Georgia.

"Tursa" currently has 4 branches, one of which is located in Tbilisi and three are in Batumi.

"Of course, we are going to expand, first of all in Tbilisi. Due to the growing demands for our products in store located on Tsereteli Avenue, we are eager to cover other locations in the city as well. At the moment, we are in the process of searching, we are considering the areas of Didube, Gldani Digomi. "Despite the ongoing rehabilitation works on Tsereteli Avenue, the number of our loyal customers is not decreasing, for this we thank them once again," says the founder of "Tursa".

In 2009, when the idea of opening the "Tursa" supermarket came up, we studied the market and discovered that there was a demand for a certain niche of quality products, which we could satisfy and offer exclusive, high-quality imported products to the population. The process of selecting suppliers was not easy, quite extensive work was carried out in order to bring only high-quality products to our supermarket chain for the population of Georgia, which would be available to a wide audience of the population. It should also be noted that in "Tursa", in addition to the unique products we import, we also offer our customers an assortment of well-known brands and products that are also available in other markets.

Our goal is that the customers could easily and comfortably buy any product in the "Tursa" market chain, like: food products, personal hygiene products, household chemicals, household, kitchen and bathroom accessories, car care products, tableware and utensil, or any other category of household goods.

The founder of the chain of stores says that in addition to the population of Georgia, customers of "Tursa" are also citizens of foreign countries (including residents and embassies). For example, representatives of the embassies of Turkey, the USA, various EU countries, Qatar and the Gulf countries have been loyal customers of "Tursa" for years.

It must be noted that one of the main directions of "Tursa" is wholesales, as a result of which it has a large number of customers from the Horeca sector as well. From our stores, we successfully supply different types of products to dozens of: hotels, restaurants, clinics and various companies.

Our market is distinguished by the fact that we offer our customers a wide range of exclusive products.

In our markets, we offer the range of products imported from Turkey, which are also presented in supermarkets in Europe and other countries. I think this is one of the main reasons that attracts foreign customers to the Tursa supermarket chain, along with Georgian customers.

As a result, in terms of sales, we have quite growing statistics. The sales of "Tursa" grow by 20-30% every year, and the number of customers also increases accordingly. "Our sales are steadily growing, especially now as the new branch has been opened in Batumi. I would like to point out that the new Batumi branch is one of the largest supermarkets in the city. Due to the opening of this particular branch, we have a special pricing policy, which we are not changing yet. We believe that through affordable prices, this supermarket will make the purchase of products easier and more comfortable for local residents and visitors to Batumi. We will make people's living easier and our customers will no longer have to go shopping in neighboring countries. Which, as you know, requires a lot of effort, energy and time resources. We offer our citizens an alternative to that.

And for those who cannot come to our supermarket, we offer a delivery service through our exclusive partner Volt.

To tell you about "Tursa" products in general.

We do not have an intermediary with the manufacturer companies. Our products come directly from the manufacturing plants. Which means that the newly produced products, in the nearest future, will be directly delivered from the factory on the shelves of our supermarkets. In addition, it should be noted that we cooperate only with leading Turkish companies.

Our focus is on ensuring that the ratio of price and quality in our stores is as relevant as possible. In the consumer segment, we hold the middle and high segment, and in the food products section, we have premium quality products - says the founder of "Tursa".

"In general, the prices of products have increased recently in the entire region, including Turkey. In addition, prices are quite unstable due to the current inflation in Turkey. It can be said that prices have increased by 10 to 20% since the pandemic period. The price of the raw material itself has increased in the world and for manufacturers it has become the reason for the price increase. In neighboring countries, this was accompanied by a sharp change in the exchange rate, a revision of the wage policy, which had a direct impact on the value of exported products. Despite this, our company tries the best to maintain the price for the customer. However, beyond a certain limit, we also have to change prices. We hope that this situation will be stabilized.

It is noteworthy, that the first store of "Tursa" was opened in 2009 in Batumi, Georgia
